How can you tell whether your electrolysis hair removal is effective?

You should never feel being plucked during the treatment.

Please note that:
The no. of clearances is different from the no. of sessions.
The number of sessions refer to the number of times u visiting therapist.
Each clearance refers to each time u have had ALL hairs in certain area removed/treated.

The thing you don't see doesn't mean it doesn't exist, like hair in exogen phase of growth. Not all the hair grows out of your skin at the time of treatment and not all the hair is at the same stage of growth at any one time. Therefore multiple no. of clearance are required, but how many clearances?

Unlike laser, electrology can remove hair in all stages of growth cycle if done properly.

Providing your regular commitments, u won't see much change (significantly less hair) until after 6 months of regular electrolysis treatments for facial hair, and

after 2nd clearances for body hair (and each clearance is at lest 3-4 months apart).

In the beginning, sessions are longer in duration and more frequent. Over time, treatments will shrink in duration and be spaced further and further apart until all hair is gone forever. Overall time to clear all hair in a certain area is around 1 1/2 - 2 yrs on average, but a client must spend regular commitments.

For body (non-facial) hair, it takes around 4 clearance on average to have all hair permanently removed, and each clearance is at least 3-4 months apart or longer.

A client should b able to observe the mentioned results with the condition that they have not waxed or plucked their hair for at least past 6 months before their very 1st electrolysis session, otherwise it may take a bit longer or few more sessions than other clients to hv all hair permanently removed.

If a client has laser hair removal (LHR) prior to electrolysis, LHR can retard hair growth upto many yrs. Says 4-6 yrs later u may still see hair regrowth.

Electrolysis can permanently remove hair if done properly.

If you hair still keeps coming back and you don't see much change as explained above you can end up with permanent scarring. Electrolysis not only requires skills and experience, but please ensure your therapist uses visual aid with sufficient magnification and lighting. You don't want them to poke your skin randomly because they cannot see your follicles.

Permanent hair removal means you don't require multiple treatments that keep continuing forever. The treatment eventually ceases 1 1/2 - 2 years, on average, after your first initial treatment, but a client must spend regular commitments.
