Please strictly follow the instructions below:
"Insufficient customer compliance with our guidelines is a common reason for suboptimal results."
///////////////// Before Booking Your Appointment /////////////////
Before booking & coming for each electrolysis appointment:
1. Your hair must be long enough (minimum 3 mm or longer) to be able to grab by the tweezers after the hair being released by electrolysis. So, please do not wax/tweeze/thread/pluck and stop tweezing/waxing/threading/plucking. No shaving neither.
2.
To increase the effectiveness, please drink plenty of water at least
during 4 hrs before coming to each electrolysis session. (For healthy adults, adequate daily fluid intake is around 2 litres.) Why:
Thermolysis vibrates fluid molecules. This creates frictions that generate heat destroying hair follicles.
Galvanic rearranges water and ... present in your hair follicle...
If you dehydrate and your skin and hair follicles are too dry, settings need to be increased and it can be more painful.
3. If u hv low pain tolerance, pls don't consume any coffee, caffeine, alcohol &/or energy drinks for at least 4 hrs or longer before coming to each appointment.
4. Please also wear clean & loose clothing for area u wish to b treated. Cotton & linen are more preferred. Avoid chafing fabrics.
5. Please have such skin area clean & free from moisturiser, make-up, deodorant, perfume & etc. before start each session and at least 48 hrs after the treatment.
6. Avoid electrolysis treatments when your skin is still inflamed, irritated or sensitive, such as from recently sun exposure, physical exfoliation, chemical peeling, needling, high frequency/RF treatments, light/optical/laser/diode/IPL treatments and etc.
Scars develop when both outermost layers (aka epidermis) & deeper layers are injured.
No visible scars when only one of the two affected.
Depending on therapist's skill, electrolysis should destroy hair follicles locating in deeper layers of skin, but not epidermis.
7. Electrolysis treatments aren't for everyone. Click here for list of contraindications.
Before booking & coming for each laser hair removal (LHR) appointment:
1. For ultimate, optimal results of greater hair reduction, wait around 6 - 8 weeks (not earlier and not later) after waxing, plucking, threading, epilation cream or other methods that affect/disturb/weaken hair underneath the skin, before having LHR.
2. Here, we do NOT treat clients with recently sun exposure, tanned skin or fake tan. Allow tan to fade prior to treatment. When in doubt, compare treatment area with limited sun exposure area such as your bum.
Other businesses can treat tan skin because they use low settings to lower risks of over treatments such as burn. But this will ruin clients' ultimate results to have the uttermost hair reduction in the long run.
Tanned skin has more quantity of dark melanin inside the skin cells (AKA keratinocytes) and more laser light energy will be absorbed (blocked) by tanned skin cells, thus less light energy can reach our target - hair follicles. Thus less result.
3. Avoid any laser treatments when your skin is still inflamed or sensitive, such as from recently exfoliation, chemical peeling and etc.
4. Please shave no longer than 1 day (or 24 hrs) before the appointment. Shave as close to the skin as you can for better results. Please do not injure your skin when shaving. Inflamed, injured, wounded skin posts risk for over-treatment and cannot be treated until it heals.
Do NOT use shaving cream or any other chemicals that affect/disturb/weaken hair, such as Nair, Veet and other hair removal cream/chemicals. Do NOT use the cream/lotion that u leave it on for some time, then u wipe hair off.
You can use shaving cream, shower gel, soap and etc. that do NOT affect/disturb/weaken hair.
Please shave shave as close to skin, like the night before or in morning before apptmt. If hair's too long, less energy reaching follicles & less result.
Please spend time shaving cleanly as close to skin as possible without injuring your skin.
5. You must have your skin clean & free from moisturiser, make-up, deodorant, perfume & etc. before start each session and at least 48 hrs after the treatment.
Dust, dirt, natural tanning, artificial tanning, hair, cosmetic or make-up products may contain colours darkening the surface of the skin. When the surface of the skin darkens, more laser energy will be absorbed by the skin's surface rather than by the hair – our main target. When too much light energy is absorbed at the skin surface, not only it posts higher risk for over-treatment, such as blister and burn, but also less result in hair reduction.
If the surrounding skin is lighter than the colour of the hair, the energy of the laser is concentrated mainly in the hair shaft, effectively destroying it without much affecting the skin.
If the skin contains dark pigments, both skin & hair will absorb laser light, thus less heat concentration in the hair.
The less pigment in the skin and the more darker pigment in the hair, the better result.
6. Please wear clean & loose clothing for area u wish to be treated. Natural fabrics, such as cotton and linen are more preferred. Avoid chafing fabrics.
7. When you should avoid LHR. Click here for list of contraindications.
Laser hair removal (LHR) vs Electrology
For LHR, pls shave as close to skin before appointment, like the night before apptmt or in the morning of the apptmt date. If hair is too long, less energy reaches follicles, thus less result.
Please spend time shaving cleanly as close to skin as possible without injuring your skin. I can't treat injured/inflamed areas.
For electrology, please do not shave for 3-7 days before the apptmt. Hair should b at least 3mm long or longer. Otherwise I can't treat if hair is too short.
